Dr.B.R.Gadagin : Selection Grade Librarian, Veerashaiva College, Bellary was born on 1st June 1958 at Abbigeri village in Gadag district. He did M.A (Pol. Science) and B.L.I.Sc from Karnataka University, Dharawad.  M.L.I.Sc., from Annamalai University and Ph.D from Gulbarga University.

He attended number of Advanced Training programmes in Library Automation and Application of Information Communication Technology at DRTC, INSDOC, INFLIBNET, SAARC Documentation Centre, Victoria University (Newzealand) and Research Methodology Courses at TISS (Mumbai) and NIRD (Hyderabad). He is serving the Library and Information Science profession for the last 30 years. He served earlier at S.R.V.R. Polytechnic, Guledgudd and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore.

He has contributed more than twenty research papers, published two books and ten peer reviewed articles in national and international journals. He was the recipient of Best Librarian Award from Govt. of Karnataka (2003), ILA Promoter Award from Indian Library Association (New-Delhi) (2003), Golden Jubilee Certificate of Honor from IASLIC, Kolkata (2006) and felicitated from various Organizations and Associations for his outstanding achievements and services in the profession. He is the Life member of ILA, IASLIC, SIS, KALA and KSCLA, and served as Vice- President, Joint Secretary and Council Member for many Professional Associations. He is also actively associated with the Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Nehru Yuvaka Kendra and organized various Seminars and Conferences. He visited Isreal, Newzealand and Singapore under IFLA/ALP Fellowship and Danida Travel Grant.

His area of Interest includes Rural Library Development, Information Literacy, and Application of ICT in LIS. He is the recoginsed Research Guide for Ph.D. and M.Phil in Library and Information Science and sanctioned UGC- Minor Research Project..
