T.K.Gangadhar Pattar a noted litterateur of Bellary district. One of his short stories 'Kari Ninga Savithri' published in the Sudha Weekly has turned out to a kannada film 'Rudra Naaga', in which noted thespians Sahasa Simha Dr.Vishnuvardhan, Madahvi and B.Saroja Devi in the lead roles. He has authored many books and actively participates in many of the literary as well as cultural events in and around Bellary. He was born on 4th Sep 1951 in Talakal-Bhanapur,Yelburga Taluk of Koppal Dist. His father was an artist Sri Kalappa Pattar and mother Lakshmavva. He was married to Smt. Savita and blessed with three children. His qualification is only SSLC. He is working in Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) since 1983. Presently, he is the Office Superintendent of VIMS.

When he was studying in 9th standard in Taluka Development Board High School, Talakal, he authored a poem ‘Thaayi’ (Mother) which was published in the Kannada Weekly magazine ‘Karma Veera’ in 1969. His Poems, Short Stories, Articles, Biographies, Personal Communications are regularly being published in the leading daily newspapers, weeklies, fortnightlies and monthly magazines.    

He was Secretary of “Kannada Sahitya Parishattu”, Bellary Taluk Unit for period of three times. He was also Secretary of Bellary Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishattu & Manasa Sahitya Vedike for a long period. He was also a member of Bellary Dist. Kannada Jagruti Samiti nominated by Kannada Abhivruddhi Pradhikara, Bengaluru. He has given many thought provoking speeches in All India Radio Stations of Dharawad and Hospet.

He was invited speaker of Samvaada at 69thAkhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held at Tumkur (2002) which was presided by Bharateeya Jnanapeetha award Dr.U.R. Anantamurthy, on the Topic ‘Media and Creative Literature’ (‘Patrikegalu-Mattu- Srujanasheela Sahitya’). He has presided, 2nd Hobali Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held at Chellagurki on 12.03.2007. He has also presided the Poets’ Meet (Kavi Goshti)in Gadinaadu Kannada Utsava, held at Chellagurki-2008. Participate in Dasara Kavi Goshti of Mysuru Dasara Festival-2005. He was Guest on BELAGU live telecast daily programme of Doora Darshana Chandana Bengaluru on 17.02.2006. He has also  Participated in Kavi-Kavya-Gayana Goshthi of HAMPI UTSAVA-2008.
